Day 1: For the first day of intersession we went to a reserve called Elfin Forest, at first when we got there we got a quick introduction on when the reserve was first started and what they do there. We talked to a few people who are very passionate about this place and they gave us a few information on how they first got started working there. Once they gave us info we hiked for a few miles up to where we were going to work. Once we got there they put us to work, what we did was we cut down eucalyptus trees because they are not native plants to California and they affect the plants that are native to grow and sprout there seeds. We basically did that for the whole day.
Day 2: For day two we basically did the same thing, we took about two hours cutting trees but a they would take groups of kids to see the dam that is up in a reserved area. After that they took us on a hike and showed us the different species of plants that grow at Elfin forest.
Day 3: For day three we went to the elementary, we all got put into groups and we helped out the teacher. Me and my friend Ashley we were assigned to an art teacher at the school and they where going to make paper weaving then the kids tried yarn weaving. I really liked helping out at the elementary because i love to work with kids.
Day 4: Day four was a very interesting day for me and I can say I made a connection to this day. We went to help out the organization Border Angel's. Then after that we went to a local Home Depot where we gave some food to labor workers who spend there days looking for a job.
